A luxury and romantic stay in England

First Impressions

We previously stayed at Cheshire Boutique Barns 2 years ago and had the most amazing experience. We loved everything about our stay in The Cowshed so I was extremely excited to return and experience The Old Parlour. The old dairy barns have been converted into beautiful holiday homes using a mixture of reclaimed and vintage pieces alongside modern amenities. As soon as you step into The Old Parlour you are wowed by the interiors, space and attention to detail. We knew we wanted to make the most of our charming barn so spent our evening, relaxing in the outside space, in the roll top bath and cooking up meals in the open plan living and dining area. This really is one of the most romantic and luxury places to stay in England.

Interiors

These 5 star luxury, unique, boutique barns are full of character from the outside in. There are inspirational interiors in every corner of the barns and each are individually designed so you will have a hard time deciding which one to pick. My advice would be to choose any as you will want to return and stay in them all after your first experience. The interior design is a mixture of rustic country touches which are mixed seamlessly with chic, luxurious pieces. Real fireplaces in the living area create a cosy atmosphere where you will want to spend your evenings whereas the bathroom is very sleek and modern. The owners have really thought of every tiny detail to create a home away from home you will never want to leave.

Rooms

The Old Parlour sleeps 4 people across 2 bedrooms. A double bedroom is located downstairs, whereas the King bedroom is up on a mezzanine which looks down over the open living space. The fully equipped open plan kitchen, dining and living area are the heart of the home and where you will spend all your time relaxing, creating memories and enjoying one another;s company. Downstairs is also where you will find a marble tiled wetroom but this isn’t the only bathing option at the barn.

Make sure you head outside as you will find the most breath taking space and my favourite place of the barn. The Potting shed is an adorable hideaway where you will not only find another toilet but a grand roll top bath that has views to the outside world. You will also find multiple seating areas in the courtyard where you can relax on the sofas or dine at the table and watch the wildlife through the window to the great outdoors.

Nearby

The great thing about Cheshire Boutique Barns is that although they are nestled in the heart of the countryside you aren’t far away from the hustle and bustle of many exciting and vibrant towns. Nantwich is just a short drive away and full of many wonderful independent shops and cafes. Whilst you are here, take a stroll around the riverside loop which is a 3 mile walk through parks, countryside and hugs the canal. For bigger towns full of delicious places to eat, fabulous shops and many thing to see and do, then Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Chester are all close by. One of my favourite towns we visited was Tarporley. It is considered to be one of the county’s most attractive villages and its not hard to see why. Expect the most amazing interior design shops and places to eat here, this is definitely a must when visiting.

Overall

I honestly never wanted to leave The Old Parlour and would happily move in tomorrow if I could. Every room here I absolutely fell in love with, from the unbelievably comfy sink-into-me beds, to the warming and welcoming open plan living space to, of course, that bathtub! I would happily return again and stay in The Old Parlour. It would make a great getaway with friends and I can imagine spending evenings cooking on the BBQ, drinking outside and just generally having the best time. It would also be a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday, visit for a romantic mini-moon or even for a proposal. Visit their VIP treats section to make your stay here even more special.
