Our stay at Cheshire Boutique Barns

First Impressions

I have wanted to stay at Cheshire Boutique Barns for a couple of years after seeing the gorgeous photos of the 3 different barns you can stay in. So I was so excited when we finally booked and arrived here. Cheshire Boutique Barns is an award-winning, 5*, unique, boutique retreat and they literally tick every box. Each of the barns are completely unique, that it actually took me a while to decide which one I wanted to stay in. In the end, we decided to go for The Cowshed as it looked the most idyllic. It also means that we will be able to pop back to try out their other barns too!

When we arrived we were made to feel so special and the luxury began as soon as we stepped through the door. They had lit candles around the barn and left a cute note to welcome us (due to covid-19 we weren’t able to meet the owners, unfortunately.) They had also left us fresh mint and lemon balm for our Gin and Tonics.

The barns are located in Cheshire’s most beautiful, rolling countryside and have miles of walks to explore right from your doorstep. So if you are looking to immerse yourself in the countryside and get back to nature, this is a great place to base yourself and unwind after a stressful year. If you are looking to visit the local towns, then there are some great places such as Chester, Nantwich, and Shrewsbury, and you can even pop to the cities of Manchester or Liverpool for some shopping too.

Interiors

The interiors were the first thing that grabbed my attention when we arrived. The fireplace, outdoor and indoor baths, and cosy bedrooms were all breathtaking. It all looked so perfect, and the best place to get away from the world and relax in style. In the guest book, they left a note all about where some of their interiors came from, such as the corrugated iron walls and the kitchen worktops. This was a beautiful touch and added even more character to the barn. Everything has been cleverly thought out to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible and the atmosphere created by the colours, design, and furnishings means you instantly relax at this home away from home.

Rooms

The Cowshed boasts a real fire and a wonderful hidden outdoor bath under a glass roof. You can spend your days, laying in the bath or getting cosy on the seats outside and listening to the rain hitting the roof or doing some star gazing. It has a romantic mezzanine bedroom with THE comfiest White Company beds and quirky yet luxurious interiors fill every room in the barn. The Cowshed can sleep 4 people, so as well as the mezzanine bedroom, it also has a bedroom downstairs with another huge hidden bath in the room with shutters that open up to the living room. It really is bedroom and bath goals!

They all come equipped with a supersized flat-screen TV, surround sound, a library of DVD’s plus super fast broadband, so you literally don’t need to leave your barn during your stay. They also have a gorgeous kitchen with everything you could ever need to rustle up some meals during your stay as well as a BBQ outside. Even the bathroom is amazing as it comes with a rainfall walk-in shower.

Extras

They offer VIP services to make your arrival and stay extra special such as Hand-tied bouquets and cards with personalised messages (£40), Champagne Afternoon Tea for two (£70) and you can book onto the onsite spa. For an even more romantic arrival why not book the ‘Special arrival’ (£70) where you arrive to a roaring fire, lamps, candles, and even outdoor lanterns all pre-lit and a bottle of champagne on ice. Or the ‘Double Bubble Surprise’ (£75) where they will have a hot bubble bath ready with t-lights, essential oils, and an ice bucket filled with a bottle of bubbly and two champagne flutes!

Cheshire Boutique Barns have been known for many birthday surprises, proposals and honeymoons!

Overall Impression

I had high expectations to stay here as I had wanted to for some time and it met them in every way possible. The barns are so beautifully decorated that you can’t help but fall in love with them. It really was an inspirational, luxurious, rustic getaway where we were able to just relax and enjoy being together and somewhere I will definitely return to check out the other barns.
