A chic stay at the Locke Hotel, London

First Impressions

I’ve been an admirer of the Locke Hotels for a while and have always loved the look of their interiors and rooms. So when we needed a place to stay in London, I knew exactly where to book. We stayed in their Locke at Broken Wharf hotel which overlooks the Thames and is near St Paul’s and the Millennium Bridge. We arrived in the evening and received such a warm welcome. I instantly felt relaxed and excited to stay here. The reception area is full of beautiful decorations, quirky seating and house plants, creating a fun and calming atmosphere. They also have a gym and yoga studio onsite so you can easily keep fit and healthy during your visit too.

Interiors

The downstairs area of the hotel is also a co-working space and it’s full of stylish seating and cosy corners where you can spend your days working or relaxing. It’s a bright space full of plants and pops of colour which is an inspiring place to feel creative. There is an industrial feel, especially downstairs which contrasts nicely with the vast windows that let in so much light and overlook the river. Our bedroom had some great touches to make the space more interesting like quirky lighting and fun art prints.

Rooms

The Locke Hotels are all self-contained studios and apartments. There are a variety of rooms to choose from whether you fancy a micro-studio for 2 or an open-plan studio to spread out in style during your trip. The rooms come with in-house cooking facilities so you can easily cook up meals if you want cosy nights in. The bathroom is full of stylish designs and has gorgeous products for you to use during your stay. A great feature I loved was the yoga mat in the room as it’s not something I have come across before. Our room had a riverside view which was amazing to watch the boats go past and checking out the view of the Shakespeare’s Globe. I would definitely recommend picking a room with a view.

Dining

There are 2 dining options at the Locke hotel at Broken Wharf, London. You can pick up coffee, pastries and cakes from the deli bar, Shaman. The restaurant is also a fantastic place to stop for a drink by the river or for a delicious dinner. When we arrived on Friday night, there was someone playing guitar and singing in the restaurant which created such a warm and romantic atmosphere. I would definitely pop back here for food when I’m next in London.

Overall Impression

I had high expectations when visiting the Locke Hotels in London but they were definitely met. If you’re looking for an affordable, chic and stylish place to stay in central London, then I would recommend staying here. I will also be checking out their other properties in other UK cities and in Europe as I know they will all be just as lovely and a great base to stay in. Make sure you check out their events when you plan to stay. During the month when we stayed at the Locke hotel in London, they had sound baths, yoga and craft events happening. Whether you fancy a trip to the city for a break or want to mix up your working environment then this is the place to be.
