A quirky apartment in the heart of Bath

First Impressions

Bath is always a great place for a UK getaway and we have found the most quirky and fabulous apartment to stay in. Full of history, elegance, regency charm and all the touches of a modern city too, you will find this the perfect place to base yourself for a city break or for a weekend exploring the Cotswolds. The Curated Collection are a selection of modern heritage stays in the heart of Bath, all perfectly located just a short stroll from the main attractions of the city. They each take their name and interior theme from either historic features within the property or of the local area. We were lucky enough to stay in The Aspiring Cook property which was full of character and charm.

Interiors

The home is decorated in historic colours to make you really feel you have stepped back in time when this space would have been the kitchen of the main property. The mix of mustard yellows and dark green painted walls, complement the original cast iron features and vintage brass and copper pots that all give a nod to the history of this place. Little touches of the dried herbs hung on the wall and cookbooks that line the living room remind you of the essence of this place. Don’t worry though, there are plenty of modern touches and cosy soft furnishings to make sure you can still switch off and enjoy yourself.

Rooms

The modern living area with the open plan kitchen and a large dining space, creates a comfortable area where you can spend your evenings relaxing after exploring the city. Or maybe you will be inspired by the property to rustle up a delicious meal. The bedroom sleeps 2 people in either two single beds or it can be made into a king sized bed. The room faces the garden and overlooks the little outdoor patio space where you could enjoy your morning coffee whilst listening to bird song. The bathroom is small but a practical space with a rainfall shower and stocked with the most nourishing and gorgeous smelling products from a local company, The Natural Spa Factory.

Nearby

The property is just a short 5 minute walk to all the main Bath attractions. Head to Bath Abbey and you will be in the centre of the city. Visit the picturesque Royal Crescent and Circus for a step back in time (scenes from Bridgerton are often filmed here.) Head to Pulteney Bridge for a great view and take a boat ride to explore the city by water. Learn about the history of Bath by taking a tour of The Roman Baths. If you are looking for a detox, then make sure you book into Thermae Bath Spa for an unbelievable spa experience. For a birds eye view of the city, walk up to Alexandra park for breathtaking views across the whole city.

Overall Impressions

This quirky and charming apartment was the perfect place to escape to for a weekend in the city of Bath. The location is great for being able to leave your car (parking permits are available so you don’t have to worry about paying either) and explore the city. We loved all the details and touches that create a home away from home vibe but still with nods of the historic features of the property. I will definitely be looking at staying at one of The Curtated Collection apartments again when I’m in need of a break away to the city.
