The ultimate Safari Tent holiday

First Impressions

If like me, you like the idea of camping but definitely want some home comforts and a little luxury when you’re away, then I have found the best of both worlds. When I saw The Nest Glamping, I knew it would tick all my boxes. It’s set in the middle of the countryside with nothing but lambs and sheep roaming the area and bird song for background noise. When you park up, you leave your car and get a wheel barrow to take your luggage to your Safari tent. There are 3 tents onsite which all allow dogs and all are the same apart from a few interior changes. Each tent can sleep 6 people across 3 bedrooms and come with everything you could want and imagine for a stay plus a gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside and lake.

Rooms

There are 3 bedrooms inside the safari tent to choose from. The master has a huge bed and the best part is that you can roll up the cover of the tent to wake up with amazing views or go to sleep watching the stars. The second bedroom has 2 single beds but the third bedroom is my favourite. Set within its own little cabin its another huge king bed so great fun for children or adults. They provide blankets and hot water bottles for everyone, so in the cooler evenings you can still be cosy. If your planning on a safari tent holiday with a big group of friends or family, then why not hire out 2 or 3 tents to accommodate everyone and have the whole place to yourself.

The Tent and Site

The owners have really thoughts of everything to make sure your stay here is perfect. The kitchen literally comes with everything, including a fridge, hob, and even the kitchen sink. In the main living area, there is a fireplace that can also be used as an oven too. They also provide you with a BBQ and everything you need to rustle up a delicious dinner on the decking. The bathroom is another wow moment. Not only do you have a toilet inside the tent which is handy, there is also a beautiful bathtub that has views to the outside. I literally spent every afternoon just relaxing here and watching the nature that surrounds the tent. You also get access to the lake where, if brave enough you can go for a dip or use the boats to explore the lake further.

Nearby

The Nest Glamping is surrounded by many gorgeous towns that are just a short drive away. We visited Oundle, Uppingham and Oakham which are all lovely market towns full of places to eat and charming independent shops. Stamford is a much bigger town and comes with the usual high street shops, but explore the back streets and you will stumble across some of the most amazing independent gift, home and clothes shops. Rutland Water is also a short drive away and here you can walk around the 23 or 17 mile lake (depending on the route you take) hire bikes, take a boat ride and much more.

Overall Impression

We had the best time at The Nest Glamping. We couldn’t believe everything that was inside the safari tent and even little touches like electricity meant we didn’t have to worry about the most basic things. The views and setting of the tents were incredible and we loved nothing more than sitting on the decking and just watching the world go by. There are extras you can add when you book like a hot tub for your stay, a cinema under the stars package and different food hampers so you can really go all out and live a life of luxury. We also loved that it was dog friendly so the whole family can enjoy a fun glamping staycation. If you are looking for a safari tent holiday, it really doesn’t get much better than this.
