Glamping doesn’t have to mean you compromise on the style or luxury, a lot of the time, they are actually better than some cottages to stay in and definitely a lot more fun. They offer you a chance to stay in some unusual and interesting places that you normally wouldn’t be able to and most of them are in the most stunning locations that help you reconnect back to nature.
Below I give you my top 10 best places to go for a delightful glamping experience. So get ready to put the glam into glamping…
Brockland Farm Glamping
Tucked away in the heart of the South Downs National Park and overlooking Hampshire’s fabulous Meon Valley lays the beautiful Brockland Farm Glamping. With 2 safari tents sleeping up to 6 people this is a great place to go with a group of friends or the family. Full of luxuries like real beds, a powerful shower, and a wood burner you won’t feel like you are sleeping in a tent but rather a stylish house! Switch off from the rest of the world with this off the grid site but don’t feel you have to compromise as lighting, a fully equipped kitchen and even a solar-powered fridge mean you can still be surrounded by your home comforts. Outside on the decking are comfy chairs to snuggly into and even a fire pit which you can use to keep warm, toast marshmallows, or use to barbecue. This is a great choice if you want to connect back to nature but still want luxury.
Brook House Woods
Deep in the woods lays a glamping experience like no other. From treehouses to a hobbit house and even a tree tent, depending on whether you want to do glamping in style or want a quirky experience, Brook House Woods has it all. No children are allowed so this makes for a great staycation for just the adults, but luckily your fur baby can join you instead. The accommodation is just breathtaking and offer views out far to the Malvern Hills and beyond. If you are looking for more of a luxurious stay then the treehouses are for you, with roll-top baths in and outside, fully equipped kitchens, and a fluffy feather bed you can’t get much better than this. If you are looking for something more intimate then check out Goji, a tent that is suspended between two ash and an oak tree in the middle of the woods. It still has 2 single beds that can be made into sofas, a private bathroom, and a kitchen with a hob, fridge, and more. It still has the luxury to offer you in terms of laying in bed and stargazing out of the glass roof or relaxing in the deckchairs outside. The site is also more than just somewhere to rest your head, you can indulge in a fun cinema night in the woods, join in on a raw chocolate or woodwork class or even play a game of tennis.
Elmley Nature Reserve
Elmley is a 3,300-acre estate based on an island in the Thames and is situated just a stone’s throw away from North Kent. They do have cottages available, but for this blog, we aren’t interested in those, we want their shepherd huts, Bell tents, or The Salt Box. Each of their accommodation has its own individual charm but are all designed to create a perfect hideaway. Their shepherd huts and The Salt Box offer windows for walls so you can wake up to the sunrise and go to sleep watching the stars. They also have a very plush kingsize bed, an indoor and outdoor shower to experience, and spectacular views of the water and countryside that surrounds you. These stylish and indulgent accommodations are the only places in England where you can spend a night in a National Nature Reserve, so if you want to disappear from the world for a night or two and spend quality time with a loved one, then this is the place for you.
Glendye Cabins and Cottages
Wake up to Wilderness in a private estate of around 30,000 acres. The Glendye cabins and cottages sit right in the heart of this beautiful estate and are surrounded by a wilderness forest and moorland on the banks of the River Dye. Although again they do offer some delightful cottages to stay in, we are only interested in the quirky and fun stays of The Sawmill at Glen Dye and North Lodge & River Cabin. The Sawmill is a great combination of luxury and nature, by using a 1955 Airstream Safari caravan and multiple wood cabins to house your kitchen, 2 bedrooms, an outdoor shower, and a woodfired hot tub. It also comes with unlimited firewood, games, a fully equipped kitchen and best of all dogs are welcome too. As a guest of the glamping accommodation, you get full access to The Glen Dye Arms, a BYOB pub that comes complete with a roaring log fire, ancient bar, and record player. You also get to use the amazing wood-fired sauna and can have endless vegetables and eggs for you to purchase from our very own garden.
Rackery Retreat
Nestled on the North Wales-Cheshire border, lays a luxury glamping experience like no other. Rackery Retreat is home to three fully-equipped safari tents which are all set within a beautiful field away from the rest of the world. They all have a built-in kitchen and bathroom, so you are completely self-sufficient in these incredible Safari tents. If that already sounds like a dream, then wait till you see the huge decking, which is filled with candles and comfy seats that then leads to the biggest, most luxurious Jacuzzi I have ever seen! We couldn’t help but spend hours just lazying around in there and watching the stars come out with a glass of fizz. Two of their tents can accommodate 4 people and the other accommodates six, so these make perfect staycations if you are looking for a luxury escape to the country with the whole family, a romantic break for a couple, or a why not hire out multiple tents for a fun holiday with a big group of friends.
