First Impressions
As I arrived in the village of Little Comberton in the North of the Cotswolds, I was greeted by beautiful honey-coloured houses and charming cottages which made me excited to see where I would be spending the next few nights. Boutique Luxury Retreats have 2 properties you can stay in around the grounds of their stunning home. There is a cosy shepherd’s hut in one of their fields full of luxurious touches such as a wood burner and hot tub. We decided to stay in their cottage which can sleep 6 people across 3 rooms and even has access to their in-home spa, which I couldn’t wait to get in. Best of all, both properties are dog-friendly, making them the perfect place to escape to with the whole family.
Interiors
Inside expect a mix of stylish decor and Cotswold chic design that create a home from home feeling with a boutique twist. Comfort has not been compromised and is at the forefront of each room in the cottage. The sofas in the living area are a great place to snuggle up and watch a movie and each bedroom has a sink-into-me bed full of fluffy duvets and pillows to help drift you away into a deep sleep. In the kitchen there is also a fireplace which makes it become the hub of the cottage during the winter months. The whole cottage is full of calming tones which make each room a blissful place to unwind.
Rooms
There are 3 bedrooms to choose from in the cottage and all come with huge king sized beds and their own en-suites, which each feature a bathtub too. The rooms are all scattered around the house which means everyone can have their own privacy and peace and quiet during your stay which is a great touch, especially if visiting with children. Each of the bedrooms have a huge amount of space too, so everyone can easily spread out. We stayed in the main bedroom which has a floor to ceiling window that overlooks the fields below.
Activities
You won’t need to or want to leave your cottage during your stay, as there are some great activities to keep you and the family entertained. There is a Spa complex which can be reached internally, so you can easily pop there in your dressing gown and slippers. It has a wonderful indoor swimming pool, hot tub, and steam room, talk about luxury details. This is where we spent a lot of our time as it was so peaceful and relaxing and great to make use of the facilities onsite. Outside there is also an Astro Tennis Court if you fancy a game or two. You are surrounded by glorious countryside so you will be treated to many walks on your doorstep and fabulous pubs for lunch if you are wanting to not have to get the car out during your getaway.
Overall Impression
A stay at Boutique Luxury Retreats is the perfect bolthole for a family and dog friendly escape to the beautiful Cotswold countryside. You will be welcomed with delicious treats for adults, kids and even the dog which is a lovely start to your getaway. We loved using the spa complex during our stay and was a wonderful extra you don’t often get. It’s perfectly located in the north of the Cotswolds to explore the charming towns and rolling countryside that surrounds the property.
