A night in London at The Hoxton

First Impression

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels all inspired by the streets and scenes that surround them. Think industrial touches, art-filled walls, and cosy soft furnishings. The Hoxton hotels can be found across London, Europe, and beyond so no matter where you travel, you are sure to find one of their beautiful hotels. When we arrived at their Southwark property, our room was already available which was great as it meant we could leave our bags and freshen up before exploring London. The staff at reception were very helpful and made sure we had places booked for dinner so we could relax and enjoy our city getaway.

Interiors

I think the photos speak for themselves, wouldn’t you agree? The main lobby is full of sleek, velvet sofas to unwind on with a drink, fun art and prints line the walls and decorative pieces create talking points for you to admire. The bedroom interiors are more laid back but still with that fun twist that has become iconic to the hotel brand. With soft green panelled feature walls, velvet headboards, and artwork adorning the walls, they make for the perfect place to get ready for dinner but also to switch off at night time. I loved the mix of the concrete ceilings and exposed brickwork with the electric prints and pastel soft furnishings. I definitely came away feeling inspired to redecorate.

Room

They have numerous rooms for you to choose from whether you want a cosy shoebox room which is perfect for a night away in the city or splash out to their biggest room, Biggy, with its floor-to-ceiling windows. We went for a roomy twin which was a great size bedroom, as you had plenty of space to get ready and relax in. The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous with its duck egg tiles that contrasted seamlessly with the industrial-looking shower. The Hoxton hotels always supply you with bathroom products from Blank that all smell incredible and are extremely refreshing.

Dining

One of the highlights of staying at a Hoxton hotel is that you don’t have to stumble far to get delicious food and fabulous cocktails. This is perfect if you have had a long and busy day in London as you can simply stay in the hotel building. Seabird is situated on the rooftop and is a beautifully designed seafood restaurant. We visited for a cocktail to start our evening off in style which I would highly recommend. We then popped down to the main lounge and reception to dine at Albie, a chic all-day restaurant. For dinner, we decided to go for a mix of starters and sides so we could try a mixture of their food and all of it was incredible. I will definitely pop in another time I’m in the city just for a drink and some food.

Overall Impression

Since coming across The Hoxton hotels, I knew I had to stay at one of them. I loved the look of the interiors, the fabulous restaurants within the hotels and definitely wanted to explore them further. We briefly visited their Shoreditch hotel last year to pop to the newest Mexican restaurant, Maya. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked and this stay did not disappoint one bit. Everything was exactly as I hoped it would be and I am already excited to stay in another one of their properties around the world. If you still aren’t sold, I would recommend popping into one of their restaurants, so you can experience it for yourself and have a sneak around the hotel too.
