A Cornish delight at The Little Cider House

First impressions

After finding this charming cabin on Unique Hideaways, I knew we would want to stay here, as it ticked so many of our boxes when we look for a UK staycation. They are dog friendly which is always a big win for us, had a hot tub which is a luxury extra we love to have and it was based in the most gorgeous setting in Cornwall. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by our hosts who had left us some delicious treats to start our holiday in style. We couldn’t wait to see the inside of the property and explore the surrounding fields that take you down to a stream.

Interiors

The interiors in this cabin are seaside chic but with a big focus on comfort. This helps create a home from home vibe, which is perfect for switching off and simply enjoying yourself. The blue and white ornaments and lighting on ropes remind you that the coast is just a short drive away. Whereas, the fireplace and sofa make it easy for you to relax at this idyllic getaway. The bathroom was very sleek and modern and we loved the waterfall shower which added a taste of luxury.

Room

The Little Cider House is an open plan space. When you step inside, you have a super cosy king-sized bed to your right where you can look out of the window that perfectly frames the rolling countryside that surrounds the property. Straight ahead is the kitchen area which is filled with everything you could need for a staycation. There is also a handy table with chairs that can be easily tucked away to allow for more space. In this area, you will also find a sofa to unwind in and a fireplace to warm up those colder nights. There is also another bedroom for kids to stay in which is made up of 3 crisscross bunk beds. This would make such a fun room for children to have during your stay.

Location

For us, the location was perfect. The Little Cider House sits on the outskirts of Lostwithiel. This is a cute little town to explore and make sure you head into one of my favourite shops, Alice in Scandiland. Just 5 miles away is the picturesque town of Fowey. Here you will find an abundance of interior shops and a mix of cute cafes and restaurants to dine in. The Duchy Nursery is just around the corner too and is the perfect place to pick up some wonderful plants and gifts, grab something to eat and even take a walk through the woodland to Restormel Castle.

Overall Impression

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Little Cider House. From the fabulous features of the hot tub, fireplace and even hammocks, to the cosy and relaxing vibe that made it easy for us to unwind. The location was ideal for exploring coastal towns and hidden gems of Cornwall and we loved that we felt a million miles away from anyone else. If you are looking for a charming place to base yourself in Cornwall, and need somewhere dog friendly, this will tick all your boxes and more.
