Who doesn’t love a bathtub? Whether you want a long soak to unwind after a stressful day, or like them just for some great photo opportunities. Whatever your reason lots of incredible places to stay are jumping on this bandwagon and putting stunning bathtubs outside their properties. The best thing about outside baths is the experience of it. Whether you are overlooking a lake, surrounded by trees, or nestled on the coast it’s such a fun and different way to relax and enjoy a bath.

Below, we have curated the best places to stay in the UK to bathe outside, so get ready to spend a holiday soaking away under the stars.

Aller Dorset

Tucked away in the beautiful Dorset countryside are two luxury self-catering huts that overlook a stunning lake and the lush surrounding countryside. Aller Dorset is the perfect setting to relax, you can sip cocktails while soaking in the outdoor bath, have a cup of tea in front of a cosy wood burner after a walk in the countryside, and toast marshmallows (or cook supper!) on the fire pit. The huts have been beautifully designed and decorated and come with all the home comforts and little touches of luxury you could dream of. Both huts come with a gorgeous outdoor bath which is the most perfect setting to watch the sunrise or relax under the stars.

Brookhouse Woods

Deep in the woods lays a glamping experience like no other. Whether you want to do glamping in style or want a quirky experience, Brook House Woods has it all. All their accommodation is just breathtaking and offers views out far to the Malvern Hills and beyond. If you are looking for more of a luxurious stay then the treehouses are for you, with roll-top baths in and outside, fully equipped kitchens, and a fluffy feather bed you can’t get much better than this. The site is also more than just somewhere to rest your head, you can indulge in a fun cinema night in the woods, join in on a raw chocolate or woodwork class or even play a game of tennis.

Cheshire Boutique Barn

Looking for a romantic place to stay? Then it doesn’t get much better than Cheshire Boutique Barns. They are an award-winning, 5*, unique, boutique retreat and they tick every box. When we arrived for our stay, we were made to feel so special and the luxury began as soon as we stepped through the door. There are 3 barns to choose from whether you want a room that boasts a real fire, and a wonderful hidden outdoor bath under a glass roof so you can lay in the bath and watch the stars or a room with a huge hidden bath in the bedroom with shutters that open up to the living room. Croft 103

On the shores of Loch Eriboll in Scotland are two luxury self-catering accommodations where you can enjoy a bath not just inside but also in the nature surrounding the property too. The outdoor bath is set on a secluded patio area overlooking the sea so you can be alone with just the sounds of nature as your company as you soak away your day. The indoor bath is placed perfectly next to a huge window with panoramic views of the countryside so you can still enjoy an uninterrupted view. The rest of the inside has been perfectly designed to flow with the natural surroundings and to create sustainable accommodation but still with luxuries like the fabulous 7ft feather-topped bed.

Glendye Cabins and Cottages

Wake up to Wilderness in a private estate of around 30,000 acres. The Glendye cabins and cottages sit right in the heart of this beautiful estate and are surrounded by forest and moorland. They do offer some delightful cottages to stay in, but we are only interested in the quirky stays of The Sawmill at Glen Dye and North Lodge & River Cabin. The Sawmill is a great mix of luxury and nature. They use a 1955 Airstream Safari caravan and multiple wood cabins to house your kitchen, 2 bedrooms, an outdoor shower, and a wood-fired hot tub. As a guest of the accommodation, you get full access to The Glen Dye Arms, a BYOB pub that has a roaring log fire. You also get to use the amazing wood-fired sauna and can have endless vegetables and eggs from their own garden.

The Fish

This quirky, country hotel nestled in a hillside of a 400-acre private estate in the delightful Cotswold countryside, is truly a luxury retreat. The Fish not only has rooms and suites for you to stay in but check out their adorable huts, fairytale treehouse, and incredible 6 bedroom farmhouse. Check out the incredible double bathtub in the treehouses, perfect for a romantic getaway with a loved one. The Fish has some amazing places to eat too, If you fancy some fish, then definitely head to the laid back yet luxurious seafood-inspired restaurant The Hook, or if you are wanting afternoon tea then definitely try their Tipsy Tea for Hoogly tea-infused cocktails and don’t worry, the dog can join in too with their dog-friendly afternoon tea.

The Lake House

Nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside is the idyllic Lake house. The living area is an incredible open-plan space with a comfy corner sofa, a sweet kitchen where you can rustle up dinner, and a roaring fire to cuddle around in the winter. The living area leads seamlessly into the bedroom and has a fabulous king-sized bed which sits by a large round window, giving you breathtaking views of the countryside that surrounds the home. In the summer months, you can fold the doors right back, that leads onto the decking and enjoy the flow of nature from outside to inside the cabin. However, one thing you can enjoy through all the seasons is the gorgeous copper bath that sits on the decking outside. Soak in lots of bubbles and why not treat yourself to the different kinds of bubbles and watch the stars rise above your head.

The Old Piggery

Morning, noon, and night, you are going to want to lay in your double bathtub with a loved one when you visit The Old Piggery. Located on an 11th-century farm on the edge of Dartmoor National Park is this fabulous cottage filled with fun, simple and luxury touches. Exposed beams greet you as you step inside as well as your bed for the night which is reached by climbing the ladder to where it hangs suspended from the ceiling! Head outside for unspoilt views of the rolling hills dotted with sheep and be prepared to be blown away. The privacy screen on your decking means you can soak the night away in one of your bathtubs with just the sheep as company.

Trelan Farm

Ever wanted to stay in a shipping container? Probably not but wait till you see the lovingly refurbished cabin at Trelan Farm. They have found a wonderful place to dock, on the grounds of a 150-acre beef and sheep farm in Cilcain, North Wales. You’ll find yourself surrounded by lush countryside, endless peace and tranquility doesn’t that sound so delightful. The interiors have had a modern makeover and are full of stylish features and when you step outside you will see the beautiful wood-clad exterior. For more luxury, then the outdoor bath is calling your name, just lay back and takes in the breathtaking views around and maybe have a glass or two of fizz.

The Yurt Retreat

Get closer to nature at The Yurt Retreat and be prepared for luxury as soon as you step into your accommodation. Whether you want a laid back yurt, a beautiful treehouse, or a sweet roundhouse, there is something for everyone here. All the homes have stylish kitchens and bathrooms and for the ultimate luxury, there is even a woodland Sauna where you can really unwind. Stay in one of their fabulous Roundhouses to have your own bath outside for a magical stay. With the site being situated on an organic farm and wildlife surrounding the countryside, you won’t ever want to leave your bathtub. Each property is also south facing which means you can make the most of the sun and in the evening you can sit and watch the sunset.
