Pub in the Park

First Impressions

We had wanted to attend Pub in the Park the previous year, but due to Covid they had to unfortunately cancel. So we were very excited this year when they confirmed they were able to run them. The premise of Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park is to showcase a range of delicious Michelin-star taster meals and entertainment for the whole family. This year, Pub in the Park tours around eight different UK venues including Bath, Chichester, Marlow, and St Albans. As you walk around this mini festival you will see pop-up pubs and famous chefs showing off their skills and hear some fantastic music. They offer day and night tickets over a Friday – Sunday, so you can bring the whole family in the day or just party with the adults in the evening.

Food and Drink

There was so much food on offer from Tom’s own pub, The Hand & Flowers as well as Josh Eggleton’s The Pony & Trap, The Hardwick, Atul Kochhar Restaurants, Root, The Mariners Public House by Paul Ainsworth and The Star Inn. They all provide taster menus of around 3 or 4 items and all for £6 meaning you can pop to numerous places to try some new and delicious food. There are many places to get drinks around the event too whether you want a beer, cocktail, or a glass of champagne so you can also try out some new refreshments while you are there too. There are a few stalls too selling sweets and treats so you can get a sugar hit to keep you dancing through the night.

Music

There is a range of music on over the weekend, from local singers to pop music and DJ sets. This year they had Rudimental, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Tom Walker, and Beverly Knight. It’s a great mix that caters to everyone and gets the whole family up and dancing together. There are usually around 3 performers for each session so grab some tasty food and find a spot to soak up the music and indulge in some treats.

Activities

They had created an Artisan Market which was full of anything from gin to cheese and brownies to olives. All the stalls allowed you to try their products which was a great way to see if there was anything you fancied taking home with you. They had a clown walking around to provide children with entertainment and balloon animals too which was a great touch if you need a few moments alone to enjoy a glass of fizz.

Overall Impression

I had such a good time at Pub in the Park and would definitely return next year. As they have venues up and down the country it means anyone can come along to the event too. Tickets are around £37 which for 6 hours is a decent price. If you are a big foodie I would recommend it as you get to try some fabulous food from Michelin star restaurants and celebrity chefs.
